Topher Gaylord new Interim President

Release date: 27 January 2008

The EOG Association for Conservation has announced that Topher Gaylord, President VF Outdoor and Action Sports International, (The North Face, Vans and Reef brands), based in Italy has agreed to become Interim President.

Topher will replace Hervé Chabert who resigned his presidency at the same time as leaving Patagonia late in 2007. Topher commented, ‘Hervé will not be an easy act to follow, his commitment to the Association and to conservation in general were outstanding, but I hope that I will be able to guide the Association in the right direction and look forward to working with those currently involved and to helping grow membership. It is vital that as many companies involved in the outdoor sector become members of the EOG Association for Conservation to ensure that we help protect the environment for future generations. Please come along to our stand in the Entrance Foyer East at ispo Winter 08 and talk to us about becoming members. ’

The grant from the EOCA kick started WLT’s support of a new and vital Elephant Corridor project from Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand, northern India, where local communities, currently encountering conflict with Elephants and Tigers are very keen to be relocated. As well as providing vital funding for this project the EOCA grant leveraged match-funding from another WLT donor which is testament to the importance of the EOCA’s support.
